Yvette Short
Melinda "Yvette" Short, NP
Yvette is a board certified nurse practitioner specializing in adult gerontology and acute care medicine. She earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing from Indiana University. Previously she has worked as a travel nurse with INDYCAR, as a flight nurse in air medicine and as a trauma nurse in a level 1 emergency department in Indianapolis, Indiana. Yvette has worked alongside Dr. Wroblewski for the past 6 years helping to care for patients in the office and assisting him in surgeries. She has a broad knowledge of upper extremity orthopedic pathologies including chronic, acute, and emergent treatments. Yvette lives in Boyne City with her husband and two German shepherd dogs. She has a passion for animals, sports, traveling, and the outdoors.
Kiira Vazales
Kiira Vazales, PA-C
Kiira was raised in Petoskey, Michigan. She went to Colorado College and received her Bachelor’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology while participating on the women’s lacrosse team. She earned her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Idaho State University in 2019. She is board certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Kiira has spent the past several years practicing as an orthopedic surgical PA in Boise, Idaho. She is now excited to return to her roots in Michigan with her husband. Kiira enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with her family and her golden retriever, Sadie.
Rae Bontekoe
Rae Bontekoe, OT CHT
Rae was raised in Wisconsin. She attended UW-LaCrosse and Mount Mary College in Milwaukee where she graduated with a degree in Occupational Therapy in 1990. She fell in love with the Rocky Mountains and moved to Colorado Springs where she specialized in Upper Extremity Rehabilitation and became a Certified Hand Therapist. She also is Certified in Holistic Manual Lymphatic Drainage.In 2009, she moved to Michigan to be closer to family. Rae enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her 2 dogs. She also enjoys entertaining, traveling, music, fixing up her old farmhouse, and spending time outdoors.
